James Anderson | Data Management Specialist, Legal Support Services

James Anderson is a formerly incarcerated youth offender who was released in 2022 after serving 26.5 years in prison from the age of 17-43. While in prison, James earned three college degrees, kept steady employment with Oregon Corrections Enterprises, and volunteered for numerous positions with the goal of improving life for those inside and outside the walls of the penitentiary. Those efforts included club leadership, community fundraising, event coordinating, and building an effective youth speaking panel. After his release, James started working in Data Management as part of our Legal Support Services. He is an advocate for criminal justice reform and believes in restorative justice over retribution. He is thankful for his freedom…and finding it true that swimming again was beyond his wildest dreams.
