Carleene Houk | Operations Manager, Civil Rights Project

 

Carleene is from Los Gatos, California, and moved to Oregon to attend Lewis & Clark College in 2013. While in school, they participated in an Inside-Out course at Columbia River Correctional Institution, where they studied the history of incarceration in the US with 15 students from Lewis & Clark and 15 imprisoned at CRCI. After college, Carleene worked at the Metropolitan Public Defender as a legal assistant for four years before transitioning to the Civil Rights Project at OJRC. Outside of work, Carleene enjoys roller skating and arts and crafts.
